Going From Being A Stay At Home Mom Suffering From Depression To Becoming A Thriving Coach And Mentor With Ursa Swensen - The Art of Following Your Heart Podcast

Listen to the Episode Here:

Two years after of having her 3rd child, Ursa found herself still very depressed and burned out, barely functioning. A woman who she follows online and teaches women's health and wellness, was offering a certificate course for what she was doing.

A woman, who she follows online and teaches women's health and wellness, was offering a certification course to do what she was doing. This created a spark that told Ursa she finally found something that she wanted to do, something that interested her again. It gave her hope and a dream.

It took a year. She got some nutritional support along the way that helped her with her depression. The course was about healing and learning how to take care of herself.

She dipped her toe in the entrepreneurial world but any little thing would set her back and she would take it personally.

Her daughter was going to college and her horses would stay behind. Ursa needed to find the justification to keep them so she ended up taking an equine-facilitated coaching program.

While taking that course she unexpectedly learned how much the wounding that she experienced as a child was still running her life and that was why it was so hard for her to put herself out there in the business world. As a child shed had to learn to be a people pleaser to keep the peace.

Ursa explains that as an equine coach, the horses are the ones doing the work. They are prey animals and are always assessing the energy around them for survival. Through their body language, they reflect our energy and feelings back to us with the help of a "Translator" or coach.

All of us have four different aspects: The Thinker, The Feeler, The Intuitive and The Sensor. When all aspects are aligned, it is much easier to function. When one or more aspects move in different directions, things are hard.

Working with clients and horses outdoors, she realized that it wasn't a fit for her in her life at the time because she had a young child to care for.

Thanks to all those trainings, she discovered that she wanted to work with people one-on-one rather than in big groups.

Ursa discovered Merja Sumiloff, an Australian coach, and she took her program to become an Integrator Mentor and applied it to her own life helping her realize that her life has been ran by the "Inner Children" aspects of herself up to that point.

All of us have four different aspects: The Thinker, The Feeler, The Intuitive and The Sensor. When all aspects are aligned, it is much easier to function. When one or more aspects move in different directions, things are hard.

To align all aspects, it is important to learn about those parts of ourselves. This teaching is based on the Myer-Briggs Personality Assessment.

Two of these aspects are always going to be what is called our "Adult" parts where we are really at our best. The two other parts are what are called our "Child" parts or "Inner Children" and those are the ones that can cause us problems. They have wonderful gifts as well but often, when we are experiencing problems in our lives, is because there is something going on with our "Inner Children" and sometimes they are even in charge of our life. That is typically when things aren't going well.

Ursa now offers a mentorship to help women integrate all aspects of themselves so they can function better and do what it is that they want to do in their life.
