In today's episode I talk about what it means to me to follow my heart and how I liken it to being a GPS that can guide you, if you listen to it... #yourintuitionisyourgps
Listen to the Episode Here:
Following your heart is indeed an art. It takes practice and discipline. When I talk about following your heart, I mean listening to that small voice inside of us that is greater and wiser than us: our intuition or Inner Voice.
Our Inner Voice communicates to us through our emotions, feelings, and sometimes through words, but to be able to hear those words we need to focus inside. Some people say they can receive those words through their heart, others through their gut. For me, its my heart. It makes no difference how you connect with your Inner Voice as long as you do.
I find that our intuition is just like a GPS, our own personal GPS. When you receive directions from a GPS, you'll notice it only tells you where to go moment by moment. The GPS will not jump ahead and tell you where to turn 10 miles from now. It would not be useful that way, we would not have a clue how to get to that point 10 miles from now. We need to know where to go now: left, right, turn around or go ahead.
The same thing goes with our intuition. It only guides us in the moment. It lets us know what would be the best thing for us to do right now. And then in the next moment, and the next, and the next.
It is easy to confuse the Inner Voice with our mind's chatter. The way to differentiate it is this: Your Inner Voice feels calm, your mind feels scared and frantic.
In today's episode I talk about how I think we must follow our hearts, not only for the big things in life, but for the little, day to day things too.
The way I follow my heart is this: Moment by moment I ask myself "What would I love to do next?" and I wait for a cue, a thought that makes me excited and giddy inside. These prompts don't need to be anything big, or dramatic, they could be as simple as wanting a cup of coffee.
This way of browsing throughout your day will feel magical and fun.
Once you do what you were prompted to do, you ask yourself again "what would I like to do next?" and again, follow it and do it. Do it again and again, and so on.
What you will find is that you will start to feel really good, and believe it or not, you will eventually get a prompt to do one of the things from your "should do list" that to you feels like a chore, but in that moment you will feel ready, willing and able to do it.
By the end of the day you will find that you've not only done everything that you really felt like doing, including those things you were "supposed" to do, but that you did it more effectively, very smoothly, and a lot faster!
This way of browsing throughout your day will feel magical and fun.
The more you live your life this way, the more it will condition you to be able listen to your intuition's subtle and calm way of communicating with you. And this, my friend, will train you to follow your intuition for the big things in life.
Don't believe me. Go ahead and try it for yourself, then let me know how it went. If you are determined to try it for a day, you will see what I am talking about. Let me know what happens.
Are you ready to follow your heart and blossom?
Until next time!
